Simple but good, will definitely go there again. It's absolutely great for a quick lunch/dinner or to go. They were friendly, the food was fresh and you'll get a good bowl of food for your money....no complaints!

I loved that Zaka Bowl isn't just another poke spot with the same offerings! Their menu is definitely broader - they're more than poke. (I have nothing against poke and am happy to eat it, but we're also landlocked in Tennessee, so I don't think it's the best thing to eat here? I'm happy to eat a grain bowl instead of poke, but we don't really have a spot like this in Nashville yet!)
Almost everything at Zaka is vegan (but they do offer tuna poke, salmon poke, herb chicken, and lemon dill salmon as premium ingredients). Like most fast casual make-your-own spots, they have some bowls on the menu or you can make your own.
My husband and I both opted for menu items. I tried the Zaka Flocka Flame (brown rice, roasted beets, cinnamon chili sweet potatoes, buffalo cauliflower, hummus, apple jicama slaw, pickled jalapeno), and only added some extra cilantro. It was delicious - only 467 calories; a great, light lunch. My husband got the spicy salmon poke bowl (sushi rice, edamame, cucumber salad, cherry tomatoes, pickled red onion, fresh cilantro, seaweed salad, and sesame seeds), which he really liked (540 calories). My mother in law and brother in law both made their own bowls and enjoyed their creations!
Zaka has poke. But it also has a lot of Middle Eastern-inspired items (baked falafel, beets, a heavy-on-the-dill cucumber salad, etc.) and bowls. To me, this is the best of both worlds! Want poke? They've got it (although since they're not strictly a poke place, they might not have as many options as you're used to at places that specialize or only make poke)! Want a grain bowl? They have that, too! I appreciate that they have their calories listed on the menu! While in Memphis for the weekend, we had a lot of heavier meals, and I picked Zaka for lunch one day specifically for the fact that it was a light, healthy break from our other meals!
The service was great as well! And the prices were reasonable for waht you get! They also have a lot of additional sauces you can add to your poke or grain bowl where the water service is!
I wish Nashville had more places like this. We have poke places but not a lot of places that do the grain bowl side of Zaka's menu! My brother in law who we were visiting in Memphis said he'll be back after our lunch there! -

Came here expecting a poke shop, but it is not. They have large selection of seemingly random ingredients. When I saw that none of the bowls looked like poke I've come to know and love I tried to construct my own but there wasn't enough of the ingredients I usually associate with poke to do that. It may be that I don't know what poke is and I've just happened to hit poke places till now that were all alike but not really poke. We settled on a couple of their pre-configured bowls which were fine but lacked any kind of focus or theme. The sauce containers on the condiment bar were filthy and the sauces were some odd combinations that didn't really seem to go with the contents of any of the bowls.
TL;DR - It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great and I just don't get it. Maybe I was tripped up by expectations, going in thinking I was about to get poke, which this place really isn't about. -

I love this place! Healthiest food and still delicious! Never any guilt filling up here! So far, I've only had the O.G. Life bowls, substituting the featured Humus for Edamame. For these older taste buds, the Buffalo Cauliflower has a kick, it's delicious! Although this is only my third time here, it's never been crowded, but I hope that changes so they continue to be here! Try it, you'll like it!

Found the place from a Google search whilst on a day trip to Memphis...and glad I did. The Tuna Poke Bowl was very good. Nice size portions. Friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely come here again.
